 2 weeks 

That's how long it's taken to get an assessment interview to get him into a program. But now we wait some more because he won't start until March 1st. I never imagined it would be this difficult to get mental health help for someone who is struggling every day.

I have taken a leave of absence from work to stay home. I can't imagine leaving him home alone especially after learning that he's using razor blades to cut himself.

Today i was told that i may not be approved to take leave under the Family Medical Leave Act.  Apparently as a "part time" employee i don't qualify because I need to have worked 1,500 the previous 12 months. I know I have the hours, but because the denied my request to adjust my working conditions during distance learning under the American Disability Act, despite having medical paperwork, i had to take sick days instead. And they subtract all sick days from the working hours because i didn't work. According to HR I'm short about 40 hours. So either I abandon my job to stay home with my son or i have no guarantee there will be a job for me to return to. I'll have to wait to see what I hear from HR next week. I asked to be allowed to work from home, but they don't allow that either. It's like they don't care about employees situations.

 1/29/2022 I was present while he talked to the 24 hour nurse on the first night and he spoke about what he was taking. I wanted to find a little more about it so here's what i found. Day 1 - What do we do

  We woke up this morning, both tired after a sleepless night. I went into Jonah's room to check on him and how he had slept. I also asked him if he wanted breakfast, which he said no. I asked him if he wanted some waffles and he nodded, so i told him i'd make him some and went downstairs. After making the waffles i put them in the toaster to wait until he came downstairs so I could eat with him. Rick came down soon after and he just sat on the couch while I called our oldest so we could share with them everything that had happened. It was a rough conversation, but one that had to happened and we all cried. After that I went upstairs to check on Jonah, he was still in bed. I told him that the waffles were ready and asked him to come downstairs, then I took out a clean hoodie for him and told him to put on a clean one before coming downstairs.
